Art in Motion
Spring 2022

Art in Motion is a project I did in the spring quarter of my second year.  The purpose of the project was to design a parkour park in the existing site Meadow Park, San Luis Obispo.  We were also instructed to incorporate graffiti in some aspect of the park.  To achieve this, I used art in different forms as the focus for the design of my entire park.  I also wanted a space that anyone could enjoy, whether they wanted to use the parkour elements or not.  I installed a graffiti sculpture garden and graffiti sculptures in multiple plaza entrances in order to showcase this form of art in the park.  I also added a children's play area with smaller parkour elements as well as regular playground equipment in order to introduce them to this sport.  There is also a seating area and a tunnel going through the parkour area so any visitor can be immersed in the experience.  Additionally, I redesigned the rooftop of the existing building to be an area for local art to be showcased, tying this part of the design into the overall theme.

Imagination Islands is a group project I did in the spring quarter of my second year with three of my classmates.  The purpose of the project was to design a children's park in the existing site Meadow Park, San Luis Obispo that encompasses the theme "a world of enchantment."  This was the first large project I had worked on in a group.  We created the entire concept as a group and then split up the work for various parts of the final presentation.  I worked with one other student to create the master plan.  I also created the grading and enlarged plan.  The enlarged plan included new textures to give a more realistic idea of this section of the park.  This was my first experience creating plans digitally, and I am very pleased with how it came out.

Resort on Water
Winter 2022

Resort on Water is a project that I did during the Winter quarter of my second year.  We designed 3.76 acres of land on a 32"x 20" model.  There was no given existing site.  The purpose was to design the entire area with a balance of landform, built form, and plant form.  I used sharp triangular shapes to connect the forms in my design.  I created a resort in a tropical climate where the built form primarily exists above and around the body of water.

Contouring and Bioswales
Winter 2022

During winter quarter of my second year, I took a course where I first learned how to calculate, interpolate, and manipulate grading plans in order to respond to specific design goals, improve site drainage, and adhere to ADA requirements.  I have provided a couple projects I completed throughout this course.
